Joseph D. Nucara
Joseph was formerly Vice President, Worldwide Marketing of the Broadband Networks division of the $40+ billion electronics giant, Philips Electronics. In this role, Joseph led the global transformation of this business from a products company to a solutions company and generated $55 million in cash on $700 million in revenues over a 3-year period. Joseph then helped lead the timely divestment of this business to C-Cor.net in 2002.
Joseph was, subsequently, retained by the Philips board to develop a sustainable go-to-market strategy for Philips' entrée into the burgeoning broadband connected home space; a strategy that will, ultimately, change the ranking order of major global players and completely change the rules of the game.
Prior to his 5 years with Philips, Joseph ran Augat Canada Inc. as General Manager based in Toronto. As GM, Joseph drove top-line revenues from $7 million to $45 million and EBIT from 18% to 32% of sales through successful premium-price strategies that resulted in dominant market share positions in telecom, cable TV and electronic components markets. Subsequent to the acquisition of Augat Inc. by Thomas & Betts in 1996, Joseph was given global responsibility for marketing strategy as Vice President, Worldwide Marketing for T&B's $200 million Cable Communications Division based in Memphis, TN.
Joseph is cross-culturally savvy and also speaks five languages. He has work experience in some 20 countries on 4 continents.
Joseph received an Executive M.B.A. degree in 1998 from the Richard Ivey School of Business at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and is a Professional Engineer with a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Waterloo in Canada
